27.Time for new ideas at city hall - Marc G. Serre (www.thesudburystar.com)
We need a new bus driver who's going to steer our city's economy into the right direction.Recent comments in The Sudbury Star about Bell Park and the purchase of the St. Joseph's hospital site by Mayor John Rodriguez, as well as long-time city council and mayoral candidate Ted Callaghan, only demonstrate the old way of thinking and doing business. Status quo is not acceptable -- it's time for Sudbury to embrace a new approach with new leadership and new ideas.

I must commend former Mayor Jim Gordon for his remarks at a recent city hall meeting.
After Sister Bonnie MacLellan’s full page letter in the local papers last weekend, declaring that the Mayor and the CAO Doug Nadorozny were notified of the private deal they were negotiating, the mayor continues to express his frustration with Sister Bonnie MacLellan, that he still doesn’t know why the sisters acted as they did. -

38.Fortress Toronto: Behind The Scenes At The G20 (marshallgolden.wordpress.com)
Yesterday I was at the Luminato food event in Queen’s Park. As many of the booths were close to the road I was able to observe about three unmarked mini-vans that each had about 4-5 cops inside and these same vans continued to circle the block and passed me numerous times over a two-hour period. Maybe they were looking for subversive Pad Thai?!?

43.City should still pursue St. Joseph's - TGary Peck Sudbury (www.thesudburystar.com)
With each passing day, we learn a little more about the sale of the former St. Joseph's Health Centre abutting Bell Park. Though far from being a scientific poll, the issue appears to be the talk of the town. From one perspective, a standard maxim is that the site was worth what the market would bear. There is no doubt that our municipal leaders would have been aware of the market value of the site when the issue was discussed. Inhouse number crunching would have provided a range.
